Founded by Canadian actor and comedian Dan Aykroyd, and renowned American artist John Alexander, Crystal Head sought to deliver a pure, clean vodka experience made by creatives for creatives.
Dan’s involvement in the beverage alcohol industry started when he introduced Patrón Tequila to the Canadian market, turning it into the country’s #1 luxury tequila. Dan started to look into other categories in the alcohol industry, and his desire to create something special led him to the vodka market. Dan’s idea was simple: to make a pure, clean liquid free from all additives using the best ingredients and innovative packaging.
The bottle
Fascinated by the legend of the thirteen crystal skulls and the acceptance that there is more to life than reality, it was essential for Dan and John to create something with meaning. John Alexander translated this fascination into the iconic skull-shaped bottle, a powerful symbol of life, power, and enlightenment. The skull represents a source of knowledge, inspiring us to connect with a higher purpose and deeper understanding.
The design of Crystal Head’s one-of-a-kind bottle took nearly two years to perfect. It is an accurate rendering of a human skull, making it one of the most complex bottles on the market. Produced in Europe, the glass is of the highest quality, where bits of crystal are melted into the glass, giving it absolute clarity. The liquid was made with the bottle in mind, something to reflect the purity and innovation of the bottle.
The three expressions
Crystal Head uses only the highest-quality ingredients to create three unique expressions while sharing the brand’s commitment to purity and quality. Original, crafted from locally sourced Canadian corn, Aurora, crafted from English wheat, and Onyx, crafted with Blue Weber agave. Each expression is filtered through over 10,000 Herkimer diamonds, semi-precious crystals that help eliminate impurities while adding a subtle touch of minerality to the finished vodka and blended with water from Newfoundland, Canada.
